Laura played a leading role in the design of this 12,500-square-foot restaurant. The Rockwell Group design team was tasked with rethinking the 20 year old iconic New York flagship to bring it’s brand and spirit into the interior landmarked beaux arts building where, on the lobby floor, no permanent construction could be done. Laura took as many opportunities as possible to specify sustainable finishes. FSC certified timber was used everywhere possible, walls in the downstairs space were coated with shikkui plaster, an air purifying Japanese finish made from finely ground upcycled eggshells. Chairs from the old restaurant were reused and reupholstered in bright colors nodding to Nobu’s Peruvian fusion culinary heritage. For a couple downsizing from a three story townhouse to a 1350 sqft Manhattan condo, we wanted to create a livable home that would allow working from home, exercising at home and facilitate entertaining and hosting out of town guests graciously. Flexible furniture solutions were employed throughout the space to allow for a seated dinner for 12, and sleeping arrangements for 5. The result is a casual-elegant environment that engenders a sense of ease in the inhabitants, while maintaining a Manhattan sophistication. Natural materials, in a neutral palette leave the space feeling open, airy, and easy - a serene and relaxed escape above the hustle and bustle of city living.

Laura provided full interior design services for the new Zola wedding registry offices. This 15000 sqft leased space in lower Manhattan was meant to integrate both the 3500 sqft Zola townhouse retail space and the existing two story office space. While downsizing in square footage, the growing Zola team needed comfortable workspace with ample meeting areas and room to grow. Laura created a clean, vibrant space to accommodate Zola's expanding team, integrate their office and retail real estate and create opportunities to display their company products.     Photocredit: Robert Wright Photography

This office needed a smart looking reception in which to receive clients, and a fresh look for their conference room. Laura provided a space plan to accommodate the team's workspace needs, while creating a distinct reception space and conference room.

The brief for this 700 sqft home had an ambitious laundry list of goals: An eat-in kitchen, a dining room that could host a seated dinner for 12, a place to accommodate out of town guests with privacy, a home office and space to exercise in the apartment. Laura accommodated the long list and created a cozy space for a newlywed couple.
